Notes (3)
- The unglossed primary headword is probably the feminine noun
ga/za which features in the first paragraph of the entry proper; but of course it is also, as Gaza, a toponym. - 1cf. Hesychius gamma36, Synagoge gamma1, Photius gamma6; Etymologicum Genuinum s.v.
gazofulakei=on ; Lexica Segueriana 229.10; perhaps from commentary to the New Testament, Mark 12:43. ↩ - 2Quotation not identified by Adler but identifiable via the TLG as Diodorus Siculus 17.64.3, on Alexander the Great in Arbela. See on this Theodoridis' Photius edition, vol.II p.LXXVI. ↩
- 3Diodorus Siculus 33.28b (on Ptolemy IX Soter II). ↩
