The headword lei/a could be the feminine form of lei=os "smooth", used in the expression lei/a o(do/s "smooth road" (e.g. Hesiod, Works and Days 288; Luke 3:5); or it could be the epic word for "booty" (cf. lambda 356). As a proper name, it is the Septuagint's rendering of Leah: Genesis 29-46 LXX, passim.
