Notes

  1. George of Pisidia, Heraclias 3 fr. 55 Tartaglia, on the inspiration Heraclius's leadership brings to the Byzantines. Tartaglia notes (236, note 96) that fragments 54-57 relate to the emperor's triumphant return to the Byzantine capital (September 629); cf. eta 366 and omicron 965. On Heraclius see generally eta 465.
For the headword verb, here (as often) used figuratively, cf. mu 316, mu 317.
