Notes
- Likewise or similarly in other lexica; references at Photius omicron525 Theodoridis.
Theo)rsoqu/rh in the great hall of Odysseus' palace features in the battle between Odysseus and the Suitors there: Homer, Odyssey 22.126, 132, 333 (web address 1). This is the gloss of the scholia at line 126, but the etymology of the word was much discussed by ancient commentators (some connecting it with omicron 629) and remains uncertain. See generally LSJ s.v., inc. the obscene usage in Semonides (sigma 446).
