Translation

A Galatian; [the man] who, as one of the kings1 in Asia, attempted to bring the entire Galatian power-structure under his control. And he possessed many assets, both natural and acquired, for this task: he was generous and warlike and powerful in military matters.

Notes (1)

  1. A version of Polybius 22.21, on an individual mentioned already in 21.38.1. Ortiagon was leader of the Tolistobogii in the early C2 BCE. For his son see omicron 640 = pi 866.
  2. 1Reading basile/wn for the Suda's basileu/wn. ↩
