Notes (3)
- Abridged from Harpokration (and Photius) s.v. Besides the lost sources cited here, the Phorbas-shrine is mentioned in Andocides 1.62.
Despite the aetiology claimed, scholarly opinion is inclined to connect the phrase with another Phorbas, charioteer of Theseus. - 1Hyperides fr. 145 Jensen (not Adler's '171', which she later corrected). ↩
- 2By Andron (FGrH 10 F1), according to Harpokration. ↩
- 3Harpokration cites Hellanicus (FGrH 4 F40) for this. ↩
