Translation

[Meaning they] having empowered.1 "The barbarians having strengthened themselves with a view to better protection, as being no longer duped by Roman [or: Roman-type] and concocted stratagems".2

Notes (2)

  1. The headword participle is presumably extracted from the quotation.
  2. 1cf. rho 252, rho 266. ↩
  3. 2Presumably quoted from late historiography, but unidentifiable. (Transmitted, in Adler's view, via the Excerpta Constantini Porphyrogeniti.) ↩
