[Meaning] of large [sc. and] similar [ones]. "He counted up the courses; for [the tower] was built out of ashlar stones, resulting in its being very easy to calculate the distance of the battlements from the ground."1
Greek original · Adler’s text
Συννόμων· μεγάλων ὁμοίων. ἐξηριθμήσατο τοὺς δόμους· ἦν γὰρ ἐκ συννόμων λίθων ᾠκοδομημένος, ὥστε καὶ λίαν εὐσυλλόγιστον εἶναι τὴν ἀπὸ γῆς τῶν ἐπάλξεων ἀπόστασιν.

Notes (1)
- The headword, genitive plural of this adjective, is presumably extracted from the quotation given.
- 1Polybius 8.37.1, on the capture of Syracuse in 212 BCE by Roman forces under the command of M. Claudius Marcellus; cf. Livy 25.23.8-12 and Plutarch, Marcellus. The 'he' of Polybius' quotation is not Marcellus himself but another, unnamed Roman. ↩
