Σάββατον· ἑβδόμη ἡμέρα ἐτύγχανε τοῦ κυκλικοῦ διαστήματος τῆς ἑβδομάδος, τοῦ Ῥωμαϊκοῦ τὴν ἡμέραν γεραίροντος, πόνων ἀνάπαυλαν, αἰδοῖ τοῦ σεβάσματος. ἀντὶ δὲ Ῥωμαϊκοῦ Ἰουδαϊκοῦ γραπτέον. ἀργίαν δὲ εἶχε τὸ σάββατον· ἀλλὰ τὴν πνευματικὴν ἐργασίαν πολλαπλασίονα ἐπετέλουν.
