Τέκεα· τέκνα. καὶ Τεκόντες, οἱ γεννήτορες. τοῖς τεκοῦσι γὰρ οὐδ' εἰ πονεῖ τις, δεῖ πόνου μνήμην ἔχειν. τουτέστιν ὅταν τις ὑπὲρ γονέων πονῇ, μὴ ἡγείσθω πόνον εἶναι τὸν κάματον.

Notes (4)
- The headword, presumably extracted from somewhere, is the nominative (and vocative and accusative) plural of the neuter noun
te/kos, -eos, to/ , the young one; see generally LSJ s.v. - 1The gloss is the same form of the neuter noun
te/knon, -ou, to/ , that which is born, child; cf. tau 248 gloss and see LSJ s.v. The headword is identically glossed in the Synagoge (tau65), Photius' Lexicon (tau117 Theodoridis), and ps.-Zonaras 1721.11; and cf. also e.g. the scholia to Aristophanes, Plutus/Wealth 292b. ↩ - 2Masculine nominative plural of the aorist participle of the verb
ti/ktw ; perhaps quoted from somewhere, or else generated by the quotation which follows here, where it appears in the dative. ↩ - 3Sophocles, Oedipus at Colonus 508-9 (web address 1): Ismene leaves Antigone with this admonition; cf. tau 1138. ↩
- 4From the scholia to the quoted passage. ↩
