- See generally LSJ s.v.↩
ba=ris .- 1Same or similar glossing, variously, in other lexica. For 'walls' cf. beta 125. ↩
- 2Julian, Letter 30, on C. Musonius Rufus; cf. mu 1305, where the verb is correctly
e)peme/leto (not, as here,e)peme/lleto ). However, barw=n (in both) should read*gua/rwn : the tiny Aegean island of Gyara/Gyaros (Barrington Atlas map 57 grid C4), the place of Musonius' banishment. ↩- 3Again at beta 125. ↩
- 4Greek Anthology 7.67.3-4 (Leonidas of Tarentum), addressed to Charon [Author, Myth] by Diogenes; already at alpha 3638 (in part) and, again, at omicron 124. See Gow and Page (vol. I, 126); (vol. II, 367-368); and further extracts from this epigram at epsilon 2061, epsilon 3944, and pi 2073. For the mythical ferryman of the dead to Hades, Charon, see chi 135. On the ascetic skeptical philosopher, Diogenes the Cynic, cf. delta 1141, delta 1143, and delta 1144.
