Translation

For Chrysostom [sc. says this] meaning I shall not be altered, I shall not change.1 And the Apostle [Paul writes]: "God gave them a spirit of stupor."2 He does not indicate action, but [says this] meaning [God] permitted; for he speaks of the worse condition of the soul, that which is incurable and inalterable. For just as one who has been stunned in [ = with] caution would not lightly change, so he who has been stunned in [ = with] wickedness would not easily be altered. But Isidore [sc. uses the word] meaning I shall not be struck down, I shall not change.3
