Notes (2)

  1. 1This anticipates the gloss given in mu 556 for the singular counterpart to this dual perfect (a form not otherwise attested). ↩
  2. 2The phrase as quoted appears in Callimachus, Hecale fr. 354 Pfeiffer. The verb is glossed as "he cared for" (e)/mellen) in the D Scholia to Homer, Iliad 21.516, and "[he] was taking care" (e)fro/ntizen) in Hesychius. Despite appearances, the two verbs are distinct, being respectively perfects of blw/skw and me/lw. ↩
