Notes (2)
- The headword, feminine nominative singular of the adjective
o)rqo/s , is presumably extracted from the first quotation given; cf. iota 238, omicron 569, omicron 570, omicron 571; LSJ s.v. - 1Polybius 11.1.1 (web address 1), depicting Hasdrubal's (alpha 4133; OCD(4) s.v.) advance upon Rome; cf. Livy 27.44. ↩
- 2Polybius fr. 186 Büttner-Wobst (context indeterminable), using the related adverb. Büttner-Wobst notes (539) that Casaubon attributed this fragment to Polybius. ↩
