Notes

  1. Same entry in Hesychius (sigma2711), the Synagoge (sigma374), and Photius' Lexicon (sigma812), where Theodoridis notes that the source of the headword -- perfect middle-passive infinitive of suntei/nw -- has been seen in a figurative passage in John Chrysostom, concerning 2 Corinthians 18.3 (PG 61.528). There are other options, from Plutarch onwards.
