Notes (2)
- 1Likewise or similarly in other lexica, beginning with Synagoge sigma394; references at Photius pi853 Theodoridis. The headword
sfada/zontes is the present active participle, masculine nominative plural, ofsfada/zw (sigma 1706, sigma 1708 -- though note the view of Herodian the grammarian that it should be spelledsfada/|zw ). It must be quoted from somewhere; extant possibilities, all late, include ones in Agathias and (favored by Theodoridis) Palladius. ↩ - 2Gregory of Nazianzus, De vita sua 848-849 (based on Job 32:19 LXX). ↩
