Notes (1)
- The headword phrase, here unglossed, recurs (glossed) at upsilon 46. The double-delta spelling of the infinitive is otherwise unattested (cf. upsilon 41, upsilon 42). A Christian hymn is reported with the verse
u(/dein e)/oike th\n fusi/zwon ko/rhn "it is fitting to praise the life-bearing Maiden" (Etymologicum Gudianum and Gregorius Pardus); Adler says John of Damascus, Canons 3.126 (which is quoted by Eustathius of Thessalonica in his Exegesis on the iambic canon of Pentecost). - 1Callimachus, Hecale fr. 371. (Aithre was Theseus’ mother: alphaiota 146.) ↩
