A small animal. The genitive knipo/s was changed to a nominative, and it means one who spends little.1

Notes (1)

  1. Same or similar entry in other lexica; see the references at Photius kappa832 Theodoridis. For a different spelling of the headword cf. kappa 2281 and under pi 1531.
  2. 1The adjective knipo/s -- which has nothing to with the present headword -- means "niggardly, miserly": see Greek Anthology 11.172.1. ↩
