Translation
[Meaning] those [animals] which have no tail, or have a docked tail; [the ones] which are not sacrificed in religious ceremonies. For in general, unless it was unblemished and healthy, it would not be sacrificed to the gods. Aristophanes [writes]: "but nor is it sacrificable her: [...] it has no tail."1

- See also kappa 1954.
- 1An ungrammatical approximation (the Suda's
au)th/n , accusative, should be nominative) and abridgement of Aristophanes, Acharnians 783-785: "But that one [the Boeotian's daughter, being passed off as a piglet] is not sacrificable". -- "What? How is she not sacrificable?" -- "She has no tail". The headwordko/loura is absent from the passage, and instead occurs in the scholiast's comment on this passage, which the Suda paraphrases. ↩
