Notes (4)
- 1= Synagoge kappa526. Similarly in Apollonius, Homeric Lexicon 105.28; Hesychius kappa4752; and cf. also kappa 2794, kappa 2795. ↩
- 2Aristophanes fr. 727 Kock (747 Kassel-Austin). ↩
- 3Thus far, the entry = Photius, Lexicon kappa1276 Theodoridis, except that Photius reads
katakekamme/nh ('bent over') instead of the Suda'skatakekumme/nh ('stooped over'). That the reading in Photius is not accidental is indicated by the use of the same gloss in Photius' separate entry on the 'all-stooping olive'. Theodoridis (at kappa1276 and Prolegomena lxvi) suggests that the Suda's reading may have been influenced by the presence of the glosskeku/mmenon in the previous entry, kappa 2798. On the "all-stooping olive" (apparently a reference to Athena's olive tree on the Acropolis of Athens) see Pollux 9.17, alongside Hesychius alpha7851, pi23; Pollux 6.163. ↩ - 4Greek Anthology 5.185.3 (Asclepiades). The subject is a fishmonger. ↩
