Translation

[Meaning] the things just communicated. "When he has made a proper response to the communiqués, afterwards he will consider nothing more important than coming to their aid to the best of his ability."1

Greek original · Adler’s text

Προσηγγελμένοις· τοῖς ἤδη ἀγγελθεῖσι. τοῖς προσηγγελμένοις ἐπαρκέσας οὐδὲν προυργιαίτερον ποιήσεται μετὰ ταῦτα τοῦ βοηθεῖν σφίσι κατὰ δύναμιν.

Notes (1)

  1. 1= Polybius 4.66.2 (transmitted, in Adler's view, via the Excerpta of Constantine Porphyrogenitus), in reference to Philip V of Macedon's dealings with ambassadors from the Achaean League in 219 BCE. The headword participle, extracted from the given quotation, and the initial glossing phrase are in the dative plural. ↩
