Notes (3)

  1. The headword, extracted from the quotation given, is a masculine noun in the nominative singular; see generally LSJ s.v., and cf. sigma 1203 for the related adjective.
  2. 1The first gloss follows Olympiodorus, Commentaries on Job 177.14. ↩
  3. 2The second gloss accords with Origen, Homilies on Job 17.73.36. LSJ s.v. stru/xnon notes that stru/xnos, a name for various plants, is a false reading for the instance of the headword in the quotation; cf. tau 1119 (gloss). ↩
  4. 3Job 20.18 LXX. ↩
