Translation
"For he, of those gathered, was much the most drunk - despite the presence of Hippolytos,1 Antiphon, Lykon, Lysistratos, Thouphrastos, the Phrynichos group. Of all these he was by far the most outrageous," [that is] drunk.2 "For as soon as he was filled with good things he danced, skipped, farted, laughed."

Notes (2)
- Aristophanes, Wasps 1300-1305 (web address 1); cf. epsilon 1309, kappa 1155, mu 83. The individuals named are rich and more or less prominent Athenians; not natural company for Philokleon. For the headword cf. generally pi 734, pi 736, pi 737.
- 1So here, but "Hippyllos" in the original. (The lexicographer has substituted a name more familiar to him -- from mythology and tragedy; it is not actually attested as a proper name in Athens.) ↩
- 2This gloss is not in the original. ↩
