Translation

[Meaning] preference. "Macedonius did not even make mention of the other [people/things],1 thinking that no prejudgment was occurring in the Council of Chalcedon, on the basis that the [Council] in Ephesos, too, was passed over in silence with it [sc. the Council of Chalcedon]."2

Notes (2)

  1. For this headword, a neuter noun, see also pi 2486.
  2. 1Adler notes that Bernhardy favoured the reading of ms G, e(tai/rwn ("his companions") rather than this e(te/rwn. ↩
  3. 2Quotation (transmitted, in Adler's view, via the Excerpta Constantini Porphyrogeniti) unidentifiable; but for Macedonius see mu 63. ↩
